Raghav Chadha Fires Back at AAP Allegations with Bollywood Dialogue
Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has issued a forceful rebuttal against accusations leveled by his party colleagues in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), countering with a dramatic warning inspired by Bollywood. In a video message, Chadha declared, "kyonki mein ghayal hoon isliyey ghaatak hoon" (because I am injured, therefore I am dangerous), a famous line from the film Dhurandhar, signaling his readiness to confront the criticism head-on.
Chadha Dismisses Claims as 'Scripted Campaign'
Chadha firmly rejected allegations from AAP leaders that he has been hesitant to speak out against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), or that he has failed to align with the party's stance on key issues. He characterized the charges as part of a "false" and "coordinated attack," alleging a systematic effort to undermine him. "Since yesterday, a scripted campaign is being carried out against me. Same language, same words, and the same allegations. This is no coincidence but a coordinated attack," Chadha stated, emphasizing the perceived orchestration behind the criticism.
Defense of Parliamentary Conduct and Record
Addressing specific accusations, Chadha challenged claims that he avoids joining Opposition walkouts in Parliament, labeling this a "blatant lie." He dared his accusers to provide a single instance, noting that such events could be verified through CCTV footage of House proceedings. Furthermore, he refuted the allegation that he refused to sign a notice seeking the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, explaining that no party leader had formally or informally requested his signature. Chadha pointed out that out of approximately 10 AAP MPs, only 6 or 7 signed the notice, questioning why he was being singled out. He added that the notice required a minimum of 50 signatures, a threshold already met by the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, rendering the focus on his non-signature unnecessary.

Senior AAP leaders, including Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, AAP Punjab President Aman Arora, and Chief Spokesperson Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, accused Chadha of neglecting critical state issues. They alleged that despite repeated communications, he failed to address matters such as GST losses, farmers' concerns, and the plight of flood victims, calling his silence a betrayal of Punjab's people and mandate.
