Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of selling out India's poor and farmers to secure the closure of the Adani case in the United States. Speaking at a press conference, Gandhi alleged that the Central government prioritizes corporate interests over the welfare of the common people.
Rahul Gandhi's Allegations
Gandhi stated that the Modi government tells farmers, labourers, and small traders to buy electric vehicles when they cannot even afford adequate food or jobs. He claimed that the closure of the Adani case in the US was a result of a deal that sacrificed the interests of the nation's most vulnerable sections.
Government's Response
The ruling party has dismissed Gandhi's accusations as baseless and politically motivated. However, the Congress leader's remarks have reignited the debate over the Adani Group's legal troubles abroad and the government's stance on corporate accountability.
Gandhi further questioned the timing of the case closure, suggesting it was linked to the upcoming elections. He urged the public to scrutinize the government's actions and hold it accountable for prioritizing corporate giants over the common citizen.
