Resignations Accepted Amid Controversy
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has accepted the resignations of its general secretary Champat Rai and treasurer Anil Mishra, sources confirmed on Monday. The resignations come in the wake of allegations of theft leveled against them.
Allegations and Trust's Response
Allegations surfaced last week claiming that Rai and Mishra were involved in misappropriation of funds meant for the Ram Temple construction. The trust, after an internal review, accepted their resignations, according to sources close to the development.
"The trust has accepted the resignations of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra. The process of finding replacements will begin shortly," a source said.
Impact on Temple Construction
The resignations are unlikely to affect the construction schedule of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, which is progressing as per plan. The trust has assured that the temple work will continue uninterrupted.
Champat Rai had been associated with the trust since its inception in 2020, while Anil Mishra served as treasurer. Their resignations mark a significant change in the trust's leadership.
