RJD Crisis: Lalu's Daughter Rohini Accuses Brother Tejashwi of Expelling Her
Rohini Acharya: Tejashwi Yadav Threw Me Out of Family

In a dramatic revelation that has exposed deep fissures within Lalu Prasad Yadav's family, his daughter Rohini Acharya has made shocking allegations against her brother and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav. Just hours after announcing she was abandoning her family, Rohini claimed she was actually thrown out by Tejashwi Yadav and his close aides Sanjay Yadav and Rameez.

Family Conflict After Bihar Election Debacle

The family drama unfolded against the backdrop of RJD's disastrous performance in the Bihar assembly polls. Speaking to news agency ANI, Rohini Acharya revealed that she was disgraced, abused, and even physically assaulted when she questioned the role of Sanjay Yadav and Rameez in the party's electoral defeat.

I have no family. You can go and ask this to Sanjay Yadav, Rameez, and Tejashwi Yadav. They are the ones who threw me out of the family, Rohini stated emotionally. She emphasized that the entire nation was questioning why the party failed so badly, but when she named Sanjay Yadav and Rameez, she faced severe consequences.

Who Are The Key Figures in The Controversy?

The controversy revolves around two key aides of Tejashwi Yadav. Sanjay Yadav, born in Haryana in 1984, joined the RJD in 2012 and was recently sent to the Rajya Sabha by the party in 2024. He served as a close confidant to Tejashwi Yadav, who was the chief ministerial face of the RJD-led alliance in Bihar.

Rameez, meanwhile, is reportedly an old friend of Tejashwi Yadav hailing from a political family in neighboring Uttar Pradesh. Both individuals have emerged as central figures in the internal family conflict that has now spilled into public view.

Political Fallout and Earlier Accusations

Earlier, Rohini Acharya had taken to social media platform X to announce her decision to quit politics and disown her family, while placing the blame squarely on Sanjay Yadav and Rameez. I'm quitting politics and I'm disowning my family... This is what Sanjay Yadav and Rameez had asked me to do... and I'm taking all the blame, she wrote in her post.

The BJP's Bihar chief Dilip Jaiswal weighed in on the controversy, noting that Rohini Acharya had donated her kidney to save Lalu Yadav. He expressed disappointment that the family was falling apart due to certain individuals, stating that no one would appreciate such developments.

The political context of these revelations is significant. The RJD, which was the largest party in the Mahagathbandhan, witnessed a catastrophic collapse from 75 to just 25 seats - one of its most disappointing performances since 2010. This dramatic slide resulted in the loss of over 100 seats to NDA allies, despite the coalition uniting behind Tejashwi Yadav as its chief ministerial face.

In contrast, the BJP emerged as the strongest performer within the NDA, winning 89 seats - its highest-ever tally in Bihar. The JD(U), led by Nitish Kumar, secured 85 seats, while Chirag Paswan's LJP (RV) posted an impressive strike rate by winning 19 of the 29 seats it contested. HAM won 5 seats and Upendra Kushwaha's party claimed 4.

The overall Mahagathbandhan vote share and seat count fell sharply, ending below the 40-seat mark and far from government formation, setting the stage for the internal family conflict that has now erupted into public view.
