The streets of Mahal in Nagpur resonated with the rhythmic beats of drums and the synchronized stomping of feet as hundreds of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) swayamsevaks marched during the 'path sanchalan' on Saturday evening. This impressive march past was organized as part of the ongoing Karyakarta Vikas Varg II training camp, held at Dr Hedgewar Smruti Mandir in Reshimbagh. The disciplined formations and coordinated footsteps offered a striking display of organisational spirit and cultural identity.
Participation and Uniform
The march witnessed the participation of nearly 880 swayamsevaks from various regions across the country. Aged between 21 and 40 years, these volunteers, dressed in the traditional RSS uniform of white shirts and brown trousers, represented diverse linguistic and regional backgrounds. They took part in the annual camp and the route march with great enthusiasm.
Route and Timings
Beginning at 6:30 pm, two separate groups of swayamsevaks set out on different routes before converging at Mahal Chowk. Residents lined the roads and intersections along the route, watching as disciplined rows of volunteers marched in unison. Dilip Taori, a swayamsevak, remarked, "The RSS means discipline. The swayamsevaks marching in complete unison proved it again."
Convergence and Review
The two processions finally met at Mahal Chowk, where a ceremonial review of the march was conducted in the presence of senior RSS leaders, including sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale. Following the review, both processions merged into a single formation and marched together through the Reshimbag area before returning to the camp premises.
Training Camp Focus
The annual Karyakarta Vikas Varg II camp serves as a key training platform within the RSS structure, focusing on organisational development and leadership building.
