Karnataka Congress is witnessing heightened political activity amid speculation over leadership changes and a possible cabinet reshuffle. MLA K. N. Rajanna said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is willing to step down if instructed by the party high command, while also being open to continuing in office if required.
Leadership Speculation Intensifies
The statement comes as discussions intensify within the party over government and organisational restructuring. Siddaramaiah is expected to visit Delhi around early May to seek approval for a long-pending cabinet expansion. At the same time, internal deliberations are underway regarding key party posts, with minister Satish Jarkiholi reportedly expressing interest in the KPCC presidency.
Regional and Caste Dynamics
The leadership is evaluating regional balance and caste dynamics before finalising decisions. Rajanna’s remarks have added fuel to the ongoing speculation about a possible change in the state’s top leadership. However, party insiders suggest that no immediate decision is likely until Siddaramaiah meets the central leadership in Delhi.
The Congress high command is expected to take a call on the cabinet expansion and organisational changes after assessing the political situation in the state. The party is keen to maintain unity and ensure that any changes do not disrupt the government’s stability.
