Stalin Accuses EPS of Silence on BJP Policies, Demands Stand on UCC and Delimitation
Stalin Slams EPS for Silence on BJP, Questions UCC and Delimitation

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin Launches Scathing Attack on AIADMK Leader Edappadi Palaniswami

Chief Minister M K Stalin of Tamil Nadu launched a fierce political assault on Sunday, accusing AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami of maintaining a "silent mode" regarding the alleged atrocities of the BJP. Campaigning vigorously in Paramakudi within Ramanathapuram district and later at Tuticorin, Stalin demanded that EPS clarify his position on the contentious Uniform Civil Code (UCC).

Stalin Questions EPS on Key National Issues

Stalin sought explicit answers from Palaniswami on three critical matters: the Uniform Civil Code, the three-language policy, and the delimitation process. "BJP government is attempting to penalize southern states like Tamil Nadu for their impressive growth by reducing their representation in the Lok Sabha through delimitation," Stalin asserted. He questioned whether Edappadi Palaniswami possesses the courage to confront the BJP on these issues.

"Whenever he is asked to speak against the central government's actions, he goes completely silent. He switches off when it comes to criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi or Union Home Minister Amit Shah," Stalin remarked during his campaign speeches.

Targeting BJP Policies and Leadership

Stalin further criticized EPS for his perceived inaction on the three-language policy and Uniform Civil Code. "BJP ministers frequently visit Tamil Nadu to campaign for the three-language policy. Has Palaniswami ever condemned it? What is his stand on UCC? Why does he remain silent on these crucial matters?" Stalin questioned pointedly.

Turning his attention directly to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Stalin demanded to know what actions have been taken to prevent the arrest of Tamil Nadu fishermen by Sri Lankan armed forces. "Modi, who claims to have stopped the Russia-Ukraine war and intimidated the USA, becomes silent when discussing Sri Lanka. If he genuinely believed that Tamil Nadu fishermen are Indian fishermen, would he remain passive? What has the BJP actually done for our fishermen?" Stalin challenged.

Campaign Trail Highlights and Political Symbolism

Recalling an IPL match between Chennai and Delhi that he watched en route to his campaign, Stalin drew a political parallel. "Just like the match result, the Chennai team, representing DMK, will triumph over the Delhi team, symbolizing BJP," he declared optimistically.

In Tuticorin, Stalin attacked EPS for his previous remarks about learning of the Sterlite firing incident only through television news. "The then chief secretary and police officials were providing him with regular updates. Palaniswami was fully aware of everything concerning the anti-Sterlite firing," Stalin alleged. He also accused EPS of attempting to protect the perpetrators involved in the Sathankulam lockup deaths.

Political Developments and Grassroots Engagement

Hours before Stalin's visit to Tuticorin, TVK functionary Ajitha Agnel, who had previously created a stir by blocking actor Vijay's car at Panayur, formally joined the DMK in the presence of DMK MP Kanimozhi.

Earlier in the day, Stalin engaged in a walk through a bustling stretch in Paramakudi, visiting several houses to solicit votes for the DMK. At a weaver's residence, he even tried his hand at a handloom unit, weaving a saree, demonstrating his connection with local artisans and the community.
