He issued a grave caution that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), if afforded governance in the state, might pursue a strategy to trifurcate Tamil Nadu into separate Union Territories, mirroring the controversial reorganization executed in Jammu and Kashmir.
Allegations of Union Territory Model and Political Slavery
"Just as the BJP administers Puducherry through a Lieutenant Governor, they will endeavor to replicate this model in Tamil Nadu. Should the AIADMK 'slaves' attain power, there will effectively be no Tamil Nadu," Stalin declared emphatically. His remarks targeted both the BJP and the AIADMK, framing the election as a critical battle for the state's autonomy and identity.
Call for Unity Behind Secular Progressive Alliance
Stalin passionately appealed to the electorate to rally behind the Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA) in the impending assembly election. "Putting aside political divergences, the people must endorse the SPA. The NDA — which we term the New Delhi Alliance — must be decisively defeated. The DMK deserves to form the government for a historic seventh time, and I am committed to serving a second term as chief minister," he stated, outlining his vision for continued leadership.
Further Criticisms and Campaign Adjustments
The DMK leader further alleged that the BJP has additional "detrimental" legislations in preparation, though he did not specify details, suggesting ongoing threats to state interests. In a notable campaign management decision, Stalin revealed that he had instructed VCK MP Thol Thirumavalavan and DMK MP A Raja to prioritize parliamentary duties over attending the Perambalur event, underscoring a balance between electoral efforts and legislative responsibilities.
