A shocking incident of stray dog attack occurred in Pathiyoor panchayat in Kayamkulam, Alappuzha district on Tuesday, leaving four people seriously injured. The victims include a four-month-old infant and an elderly woman.

Details of the Attack

The incident took place around 5:45 PM in ward 17 of Pathiyoor panchayat. Rajamma (65), a resident of Arattukulangara near Pullukulangara market, was carrying her four-month-old grandson Aarav when the stray dog suddenly ran towards them and leaped at the baby. The infant suffered a bite on his leg, and Rajamma sustained injuries while trying to protect the child.

Later, the same dog attacked Rasheeda (44) and her daughter Amana (16) as they were walking along the road. Both were bitten and sustained serious injuries.

Medical Response

All four injured individuals were immediately rushed to Kayamkulam Taluk Hospital for treatment. Their condition is reported to be serious but stable.
