TDP MP Putta Mahesh Yadav Faces Show-Cause Notice After Drug Party Allegations

In a significant development, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has taken serious note of allegations against Eluru MP Putta Mahesh Yadav. On Sunday, Naidu directed the state party leadership to submit a detailed report on the incident involving the parliamentarian.

Show-Cause Notice Issued to MP

A show-cause notice has been formally issued to TDP MP Putta Mahesh Yadav, requiring him to submit his explanation within five days regarding his alleged involvement in a controversial incident. According to reliable party sources, Naidu instructed AP state TDP president Palla Srinivasa Rao to gather complete information and prepare a comprehensive report on the allegations against the MP.

The party high command has reportedly asked Mahesh to stay away from all party programmes and events until the matter is thoroughly clarified and resolved. This precautionary measure reflects the seriousness with which the party leadership is treating these allegations.

Incident at Hyderabad Rave Party

The controversy stems from a police raid at a rave party hosted by BRS former legislator Pilot Rohit Reddy in Moinabad, on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Putta Mahesh Yadav allegedly attended this weekend gathering when law enforcement conducted a surprise operation at the location.

Police officials have confirmed that the MP tested positive for consumption of banned substances during their investigation. Authorities stated that six persons who attended the weekend party tested positive for drug consumption, with Mahesh being among those identified.

Naidu's Strong Stance on Drug-Related Activities

Chief Minister Naidu reportedly directed Srinivasa Rao to issue the notice to the MP seeking a detailed explanation regarding his alleged involvement in the incident. The TDP leader made it unequivocally clear that the party would not tolerate any association with activities related to drugs and that strict disciplinary action would be taken if the allegations were proven true.

Emphasizing the party's firm stand on this critical issue, Naidu stated that no individual, regardless of their position or influence within the party structure, would be spared in matters related to drugs and substance abuse. He further observed that the mistakes or weaknesses of individual leaders should not be allowed to damage the party's hard-earned reputation and public standing.

Political Fallout and Investigation

The developments in the Moinabad drugs case have triggered significant political attention across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. According to police sources, Rohith Reddy organized a private weekend party at his farmhouse located in Aziz Nagar in Moinabad, which several guests attended, including MP Mahesh Yadav.

The TDP leadership has initiated internal inquiries while awaiting further details from the authorities regarding the ongoing case. This incident represents a challenging situation for the party as it balances disciplinary action with political considerations ahead of upcoming electoral battles.

The controversy highlights the increasing scrutiny of public figures' conduct and the growing public expectation for accountability among elected representatives. As the investigation progresses, political observers will be watching closely to see how the TDP handles this sensitive matter involving one of its parliamentarians.
