A 17-year-old boy allegedly died by suicide after his family prevented him from going swimming in Maudaha, Hamirpur district, late Monday night. Police identified the deceased as Naman, also known as Aryan, son of Ramlal and a resident of Fattepur locality. He hanged himself at home, and family members rushed him to a government hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Incident Details
According to family members, Naman had insisted on visiting a swimming pool but was stopped due to concerns following the recent drowning of three children in a pond in Khandeh village. Upset over the refusal, he allegedly took the extreme step shortly afterward.
Police Investigation
Police sent the body for postmortem. Kotwali in-charge Santosh Singh stated that no complaint had been received so far and that the matter was under investigation. Authorities are looking into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
