A 17-year-old Class 11 student was stabbed by his former classmate on Saturday following a dispute over their relationship with the same girl. The incident took place near a school under the Bela police station limits in Nagpur Rural, where a case of attempt to murder has been registered.
The stabbed teenager is reported to be out of danger and is recovering at the hospital. According to sources, the two teenagers previously studied at the same school and were friends. One of them was close to a girl but later moved to another town for further studies. Subsequently, the other teenager developed a friendship with the girl, leading to a rift between the former friends. They had been involved in verbal spats over the past few days, police said.
Sources added that the accused called his former friend to settle the matter, then stabbed him twice and fled the scene. The victim is now recuperating, and investigations are ongoing.
