The deceased has been identified as Manikandan (60), a resident of Karumathra Blahayil Illam. He served as the priest at Thamarakulam Thottappulli temple, located near the accident site.

The heavy downpour had loosened the soil around the tree, causing it to uproot suddenly and fall directly onto the scooter he was riding.
