Three Children Drown in Gondal Lake, One Critical

A tragic incident occurred in Shemla village under Gondal taluka on Thursday, where three young children drowned and another is fighting for his life after slipping into deep water in a village lake.

Victims Identified

The deceased have been identified as six-year-old Lakht Damor, three-year-old Laxmi Damor, and six-year-old Arjun Baberia. A fourth child, three-year-old Sahil Baberia, is in critical condition and undergoing treatment.

Details of the Incident

The children were part of a family employed on the farm of Nirubha Jadeja in Shemla. While the adults were working in the fields, the children were playing near a lake a short distance away. During their play, they slipped into deep water and began to drown.

When the farmer and others nearby noticed the incident, they rushed to the spot. Family members and swimmers pulled the children out of the lake and immediately transported them in a private vehicle to a private hospital in Gondal.

Hospital Declaration

Doctors on duty declared Lakht Damor and his sister Laxmi dead upon arrival. Arjun Baberia, son of Karsan Damor from Shala Bhura, was also declared dead. Sahil Baberia was admitted in a critical condition and is currently undergoing treatment.

Police Investigation

Gondal taluka police have initiated an investigation into the incident. Preliminary inquiries revealed that the deceased belonged to families originally from Jhabua district of Madhya Pradesh.

Authorities are looking into the circumstances surrounding the drowning and ensuring that necessary safety measures are taken to prevent such tragedies in the future.
