A tragic road accident on National Highway 120 near Goh police station area in Aurangabad district, Bihar, claimed the lives of three women and left three others injured on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred when a speeding tractor rammed into a car from behind, causing the vehicle to be badly mangled. The car driver fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle.
Victims Identified
The deceased have been identified as Mamta Kumari (45), wife of Upendra Yadav, and her daughter Chulbul Kumari (18), both residents of Hichhan Bigha under Daudnagar police station, and Khushi Kumari (17), daughter of the late Vinod Yadav, from Darwa village under Uphara police station. According to police, Khushi had accompanied her aunt Mamta to the Mosrama fair in Arwal district. The group was returning home in a car when the accident occurred.
Survivors and Injuries
Seven people were travelling in the car. Among the survivors, three sustained serious injuries: Muskan Kumari (14) and Samar Kumar (12), children of Upendra Yadav, and Sangeeta Devi (40), wife of late Vinod Yadav. After initial treatment at a local facility, Muskan and Samar were referred to Gaya Medical College due to the severity of their injuries.
Residents Block Highway in Protest
Angered by the incident, local residents blocked NH-120 for several hours, disrupting traffic. Goh police reached the spot and cleared the road after pacifying the crowd. Goh SHO Rajiv Kumar said an investigation is underway. “We received information about the accident and are looking into all aspects. Necessary legal formalities are being completed,” he said.
Police Investigation
Police are trying to trace the tractor and its driver. Initial reports suggest the tractor, allegedly being driven at high speed, rammed the car from behind, leaving it badly mangled, the SHO added. The car driver remains absconding, and authorities are probing the circumstances leading to the fatal collision.
