The relief from severe hot conditions is likely to persist in Lucknow as the weather department has forecast a few spells of thundershowers between Monday and Wednesday. According to the Met department, a western disturbance over Afghanistan and a cyclonic circulation from Rajasthan will bring rainfall to the region.
Weather Forecast for the Week
Next week is expected to begin with thunderstorms, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kmph, said Mohammad Danish, a senior scientist at the Met department. He also mentioned a possibility of light rainfall on Sunday in some parts of western Uttar Pradesh. The system will gradually shift towards the central and eastern regions of the state from Monday onwards.
Temperature Readings
On Saturday, the maximum temperature in the city was recorded at 34.1 degrees Celsius, which is 5.3 notches below the normal average. The minimum temperature settled at 23.1 degrees Celsius. Looking ahead to Sunday, the sky is expected to remain mainly clear, turning partly cloudy towards evening and night. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 35 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Residents can expect continued relief from the heat as the thundershowers are predicted to bring down temperatures further. The Met department advises caution during thunderstorms due to the risk of lightning and strong winds.
