The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has announced a significant organisational reshuffle in West Bengal following a key meeting at party chief Mamata Banerjee's residence in Kolkata. The restructuring aims to strengthen the party's grassroots presence ahead of upcoming political challenges.
New Leadership Appointments
As part of the changes, Chandrima Bhattacharya has been appointed President of the West Bengal Pradesh Trinamool Congress. The party has also named Sajda Ahmed, Mamata Thakur, Nayana Bandyopadhyay, and Swati Khandekar as Vice Presidents of the state unit. These appointments are seen as part of TMC's efforts to streamline its organisational structure.
Support for Abhishek Banerjee
TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee, speaking after the meeting, stated that National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee will now be assisted by senior leaders Derek O'Brien and Dola Sen in party affairs. This move is expected to enhance coordination and efficiency within the party.
Banerjee also mentioned that leaders at the state level will provide suggestions based on which various committees will be constituted to strengthen the party organisation further. The reshuffle is part of TMC's broader strategy to consolidate its position in West Bengal and prepare for future electoral battles.
