TVK Government Will Last 50 Years, Not Five, Minister Rajmohan Retorts to Stalin
TVK Govt Will Last 50 Years, Not Five: Rajmohan to Stalin

Chennai: Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) minister Rajmohan on Sunday strongly countered DMK president M K Stalin's assertion that the C Joseph Vijay-led government might not endure for five years, declaring that the administration would continue with unwavering public backing for “50 years and beyond.”

Rajmohan’s Rebuttal to Stalin’s Prediction

“Earlier, he [Stalin] had claimed we would never come to power. Yet we formed the government. Now he predicts that the government will not last five years. With the people’s support, this government will continue for the next 50 years as well,” Rajmohan told reporters in Chennai.

The minister’s remarks came just days after Stalin reportedly informed DMK functionaries that the TVK government could collapse at any moment, urging party cadres to prepare for potential early elections.

Law and Order Measures

Responding to opposition parties’ concerns over law-and-order incidents reported in Coimbatore and Trichy, Rajmohan stated that police had initiated preventive action from the very first day the government assumed office.

“Charge-sheeted offenders and repeat offenders are being identified. Preventive arrests are being made, and officials are holding consultations in multiple locations. Measures are being taken from city outskirts to other districts to maintain law and order,” he explained.

The minister emphasized that the government follows a “zero tolerance” policy against crime, asserting that swift action had been taken in recent incidents and accused individuals were arrested promptly.

On Alliance Politics

Addressing criticism over alliance politics, Rajmohan remarked, “In a democracy, parties are free to decide whom they want to align with. It is not right to say a party is good when it is with you and bad when it leaves you.”
