Two Radiologists Killed in Lucknow Tree Crash

Lucknow: Two young radiologists were killed after a large tree crashed onto their motorcycle near Dilkusha Garden in Cantonment on Thursday. The deceased were identified as Ravi Shankar Pandey, 28, of Basti, and Bal Krishna, 27, of Mau district.

Both worked as contractual radiologists at Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute and resided on the Balrampur Hospital campus. According to police, they were heading to duty on a bike around 9am when a tree suddenly collapsed, bringing down another tree with it near Dilkusha Garden. The victims became trapped under the debris and sustained critical injuries.

Passersby alerted the authorities and rushed the injured to Civil Hospital, where doctors declared both brought dead. SHO Cantonment Gurpreet Kaur stated that the bodies were handed over to the families after postmortem. No formal complaint has been filed so far.

Traffic Disruption and Clearance

The incident caused significant traffic disruption on Dilkusha road as the fallen tree blocked the entire stretch. Teams from the Cantonment Board and Forest Department arrived at the scene. After nearly an hour of efforts using JCB machines and cutters, the tree was removed, and traffic was restored.

Background of the Victims

Ravi Shankar Pandey and Bal Krishna were both contractual employees at the cancer institute. They had been living on the Balrampur Hospital campus. The tragic incident has left their colleagues and families in shock.
