Two Teenagers Killed in Separate Bengaluru Accidents

Bengaluru witnessed two tragic road accidents on Saturday night, claiming the lives of two teenage boys who were riding two-wheelers illegally. The minors were operating vehicles despite being underage, prompting police to take action against the vehicle owners.

A senior police officer stated, 'We are going to book separate cases against the owners of the vehicles for allowing minors to ride them.'

16-Year-Old Crushed by Tractor

In the first incident, a 16-year-old boy was killed after a speeding tractor hit the scooter he was riding and ran over him near RTO Road in Vijaya Bank Layout at 8:45 pm. Suraj's father, Jagadish Kumar, filed a complaint stating that the two boys were returning home on a Honda Activa scooter belonging to a relative after refueling at a station near Vijaya Bank Layout Circle. They were traveling towards Sarvabhouma Nagar via RTO Road and Vinayak Hospital when the accident occurred. As the scooter approached a junction, a tractor allegedly driven at high speed entered from a crossroad and suddenly braked. The abrupt braking caused the rear trailer to swing and strike the left handlebar of the scooter, throwing both teenagers onto the road. The tractor driver failed to stop, and the right rear wheel of the trailer ran over Suraj's head, causing fatal injuries.

15-Year-Old Dies in Bike-Scooter Collision

In another incident, a 15-year-old boy died near Kalpalli Bridge on Old Byappanahalli Road after his bike collided with a scooter. The deceased was identified as Riyan M, a resident of Murphy Town in Halasuru. His mother, Anu, told police that her son was riding a bike belonging to his father at the time of the accident, which occurred at 8:45 pm. Riyan was traveling from Old Madras Road towards SMVT railway station when a scooter ridden by Arun, 32, approached from the opposite direction at high speed and collided with his bike. The impact threw Riyan off his motorcycle, causing him to hit his head on the road. He was rushed to a hospital but was declared brought dead.
