Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Pankaj Chaudhary on Sunday predicted that the opposition I.N.D.I.A. bloc will gradually fall apart, citing recent remarks from the DMK as evidence of internal discord. Speaking to reporters, Chaudhary said, "The statement DMK has given shows the betrayal that Congress has done to a 40-year-old alliance." He asserted that the coalition lacks cohesion and is bound to disintegrate over time.
Chaudhary's Remarks on Alliance Dynamics
Chaudhary emphasized that the I.N.D.I.A. bloc, formed to challenge the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), is already showing signs of fragmentation. He pointed to the DMK's criticism of the Congress party as a clear indicator of mistrust among allies. "When a long-standing partner like DMK speaks out, it reveals the deep cracks within the opposition camp," he added.
DMK's Allegations Against Congress
The DMK had recently accused the Congress of betraying their decades-old alliance by not consulting them on key political decisions. This public spat has provided ammunition to the BJP, which has consistently argued that the opposition bloc is united only by anti-BJP sentiment and lacks a common vision. Chaudhary claimed that such incidents would accelerate the bloc's decline.
Political analysts note that the I.N.D.I.A. bloc, comprising over 20 parties, has struggled to present a unified front on several issues, including seat-sharing and policy agendas. The BJP, meanwhile, continues to consolidate its position ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.
