Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Pankaj Chaudhary on Monday strongly criticized Samajwadi Party MP Ajendra Singh Lodhi from Hamirpur for making derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Chaudhary asserted that such comments reveal the true nature of the Akhilesh Yadav-led party, labeling it as a group of goons and abusers.
Chaudhary's Strong Response
Chaudhary stated, "The Prime Minister does not belong to any single party; he is the pride of the entire nation. This insult by the SP MP is an affront to 140 crore Indians, an insult to the BJP, and a severe blow to democratic decorum." He demanded that the Samajwadi Party immediately expel Lodhi, warning that failure to do so would imply that the remarks were made at the behest of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav.
Pattern of Derogatory Language
The UP BJP chief highlighted that this is not an isolated incident. "Whenever the public shows the Samajwadi Party a mirror of defeat, its functionaries resort to using derogatory language," he said. Chaudhary emphasized that such behavior reflects the party's desperation and frustration.
Party Action on the Issue
Chaudhary informed reporters that the BJP is deliberating on the matter and will announce its course of action soon. "We are discussing this and will inform you of whatever decision the party takes. The use of such statements against the PM reflects their mindset," he added.
Political Context
According to Chaudhary, the comments expose SP's anxiety in Uttar Pradesh. "They are rattled in Uttar Pradesh. With the results from Bihar and Bengal, and the manner in which the public has defeated these parties, this is the language of their frustration," he said.
