UP Congress to Launch Kisan Naujawan Bachao Yatra from May 1

The Uttar Pradesh Congress has escalated its criticism of the BJP-led governments by announcing a statewide campaign called 'Kisan Naujawan Bachao Yatra', set to commence on May 1 from Saharanpur and conclude in Delhi. The yatra, led by the UP Youth Congress western zone with support from the state Kisan Congress, will pass through several districts including Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Agra, Mathura, and Gautambudhnagar.

Focus on Farmer Distress and Unemployment

UP Congress chief Ajay Rai stated that farmers and youth have been the worst affected under the BJP government. He highlighted that cultivators are facing rising input costs, financial hardships, and inadequate crop prices, while young people continue to struggle with unemployment. Rai emphasized that farmers are the backbone of the nation and youth are its future, and the Congress party is committed to protecting their interests through mass mobilization.

Campaign Objectives

Youth Congress western zone president Paras Shukla said the campaign aims to unite young people against what he termed the state government's anti-youth policies. Kisan Congress functionary Akhilesh Shukla added that the yatra will focus on local issues across districts, including sugarcane pricing, smart meter protests, fertilizer and seed shortages, MGNREGA awareness, student concerns, and employment dialogues.
