In a rapid response to a pressing social issue, Uttar Pradesh minister and Muzaffarnagar MLA Kapil Dev Agarwal has ensured the establishment of a temporary school and the enrolment of approximately 40 children from a nomadic slum on Roorkee Road in Agra. This decisive action was taken within just two days after the minister discovered out-of-school children during a visit on Tuesday.

Taking the matter with utmost urgency, Agarwal personally coordinated with officials from the education department and the district administration. This collaboration led to the immediate initiation of on-the-spot registrations for the children, along with the distribution of essential books and other study materials. School Setup and Comprehensive Support Provided
By Thursday, the temporary school was fully operational within the slum area. Children received a comprehensive package of educational resources, including:
- Books and notebooks for academic learning
- Uniforms to foster a sense of belonging and discipline
- Shoes for comfort and safety
- School bags to carry their materials
Authorities confirmed that financial assistance of Rs 1,200 would be credited directly to the parents' bank accounts, further supporting the families in this transition.

Agarwal emphasized that this initiative was inspired by the visionary ideals of B R Ambedkar, focusing on social justice and empowerment through education. He also highlighted its alignment with the government's broader "School Chalo Abhiyan" campaign, which aims to boost school enrolment across the state. The minister called upon social organizations to actively contribute to the upliftment of such marginalized communities, reinforcing a collective responsibility.

In addition to the immediate setup, Agarwal directed officials to make proper arrangements for student transportation to ensure regular attendance. Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) Kumar stated, "Basic facilities have been provided so that children can begin studying immediately. So far, around 40 children have been registered, and efforts are ongoing to enrol more children from the area." This statement reflects a sustained commitment to expanding educational access.
