Uttarakhand Chief Minister Inaugurates Major Development Projects in Haldwani

In a significant push for regional development, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami presided over a major event at Sushila Tiwari Government Medical College in Haldwani on Saturday. During the ceremony, he officially inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for a total of 40 development projects with a combined value of Rs 147.28 crore.

Project Breakdown and Financial Allocation

According to an official government release, the comprehensive initiative includes the inauguration of 23 completed projects costing Rs 72.38 crore and the commencement of 17 new projects with an estimated budget of Rs 74.90 crore. Chief Minister Dhami emphasized that these investments are strategically designed to accelerate the pace of development across Nainital district, fostering economic growth and improving public infrastructure.

Vision for a Developed Uttarakhand

Addressing the gathering, CM Dhami articulated his administration's unwavering commitment to building a "Developed Uttarakhand." He highlighted that the state is making continuous progress across all sectors, with several historic decisions serving as an inspiration for other states nationwide. The chief minister reiterated that the government's sole objective is to propel Uttarakhand forward while preserving its unique cultural heritage and sanctity.

He pointed to landmark policies implemented under his leadership, including the Uniform Civil Code, a stringent anti-copying law, and an anti-conversion law, as evidence of the government's proactive and transformative governance approach.

Key Projects Inaugurated

The 23 projects inaugurated span critical infrastructure and public welfare domains:

  • A 30-meter span motor bridge constructed over the Shipra River to enhance connectivity.
  • A new technology lab at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Haldwani to boost vocational education.
  • Multiple tube well constructions in villages including Kotabagh, Mahadevpuram, Jhaluwajhala, Belpokhra, and Bailpadav to improve water access.
  • Construction of a modern laboratory at the Women's College to support academic excellence.
  • Installation of stabilizers at tube wells in Lalkuan to ensure consistent water supply.
  • 14 comprehensive drinking water schemes under the Jal Jeevan Mission, benefiting communities such as Haripur Lachhi, Kalupur Pokhariya, Jeetpur Raikwala, Devalatalla, Bhawan Singh Nawad, Basantpur, Kishanpur Raikwala, Chorgalia Aamkheda, Jayram Parma, Haldauchaur Jaggi, Bhawanipur Krishna, Padlipur, Bhagwanpur Durgapur, and Bakutiya.
  • Construction of a new building at the Veterinary Hospital in Ramgarh to enhance animal healthcare services.

Foundation Laying for Future Initiatives

On the same occasion, Chief Minister Dhami performed the Bhoomi Pujan (groundbreaking ceremony) for the ambitious Haldwani-Kathgodam source and treatment augmentation drinking water scheme. This critical project, approved under the chief minister's announcement, compliance, and the Special Plan Assistance (SPA) programme, carries a total cost of Rs 154.43 crore. It is expected to significantly augment drinking water supply and treatment capacity for the region, addressing long-term water security needs.

The event underscores the state government's focused efforts on holistic development, combining infrastructure enhancement with cultural preservation to create a sustainable and prosperous future for Uttarakhand.
