Chennai: TVK president Vijay will hold the home (police) and public administration portfolios, according to sources. K A Sengottaiyan, who quit AIADMK and joined TVK in November 2025, is likely to become the public works department minister, a portfolio previously held by DMK's E V Velu.
Key Portfolios for TVK Leaders
N Anand, TVK general secretary, is likely to head the municipal administration portfolio. Aadhav Arjuna, who won from Villivakkam, is expected to head prohibition enforcement. He has also been keen on getting the sports ministry, given his long-term association with basketball bodies. DMK's Udhayanidhi Stalin held the sports portfolio in the previous cabinet.
Vijay's two other trusted lieutenants, C T R Nirmal Kumar and Arun Raj, are likely to be allotted the electricity and commercial taxes and registration portfolios, respectively. Party treasurer Venkatraman could become school education minister, a portfolio previously held by Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi.
New Faces in the Cabinet
S Keerthana, who was elected from Sivakasi, and T K Prabhu, elected from Karaikudi, are also likely to be inducted into the cabinet. While J C D Prabhakar is the preferred choice for pro-tem speaker, Rajmohan, who won from Egmore, is also being considered. Rajmohan is likely to be given the Adi Dravidar welfare department if he is not made pro-tem speaker.
Congress Share in Cabinet
Congress is expected to get two ministerial berths. S Rajesh Kumar, the party's legislative floor leader and three-time Killiyoor MLA, may get industries or finance. P Viswanathan, the Melur MLA-elect, is likely to get a junior minister post.
