Amit Shah Assures Kerala of Centre's Full Support After Wayanad Mudslide
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday assured Kerala Chief Minister of all possible assistance from the Centre in the wake of the devastating mudslide in Wayanad district. According to the Chief Minister's Office, Shah called the Chief Minister to enquire about the disaster and the ongoing rescue operations.

The Chief Minister's Office stated that Shah expressed his condolences and assured that the central government would provide all necessary resources and support for relief and rescue efforts. The Home Minister also directed the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to assist the state administration in the affected areas.
The mudslide, which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, has caused significant damage to property and loss of life. Rescue teams have been working tirelessly to search for survivors and provide medical aid to the injured.
Impact and Rescue Operations
According to state officials, at least 15 people have been reported dead, and several others are missing. The Kerala government has deployed multiple teams of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and local police for rescue operations. The district administration has set up relief camps for those displaced by the disaster.
Leader of Opposition in the Kerala Assembly, V D Satheesan, also urged the state government to ensure swift relief measures and called for a comprehensive disaster management plan for hilly regions.
