Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari made an unscheduled trip to Delhi on Friday and met with the Bharatiya Janata Party's central leadership. This visit comes shortly after the expansion of the state cabinet.
Meeting with Top BJP Leaders
Sources confirmed that Adhikari met with BJP president Nitin Nabin and national general secretary Sunil Bansal. The discussions focused on the allocation of portfolios and other political matters. The meeting lasted more than two hours, according to insiders.
Portfolio Adjustments on the Agenda
The Chief Minister, who currently holds heavyweight portfolios including Home, Hill Affairs, Finance, and Health, is reportedly seeking structural adjustments to better distribute the administrative workload. A source close to the development stated, "They discussed the allocation of portfolios. A few other political issues also came up during the meeting."

Another key objective of the Chief Minister's visit was to expedite the implementation of various central government schemes in West Bengal. The source added, "The objective of the CM's visit was to expedite the implementation of various central schemes in Bengal."
