CM Yogi Adityanath Honors Soldiers and Families at Times Samman Awards in Lucknow
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath delivered a heartfelt tribute to India's soldiers, war widows, and families of armed forces personnel during the Times Samman Award ceremony held in Lucknow on Saturday. He described their immense sacrifices as the fundamental bedrock of the nation's security and self-respect, underscoring their critical role in safeguarding the country.
Unwavering Courage as a Protective Shield
In his address, the Chief Minister emphasized that the unwavering courage displayed by India's soldiers acts as a protective shield for the entire nation. "The steadfast bravery of our soldiers instills confidence in the minds of 1.45 billion citizens. When our troops stand firm on the borders, the entire country can sleep peacefully," Adityanath stated. He highlighted the extreme and harsh conditions faced by the armed forces, referencing the freezing cold of Siachen, the scorching desert heat, dense forests, and the vast challenges of the sea and sky.
Despite these formidable adversities, Indian soldiers perform their duties with unwavering commitment, carrying the spirit of India through their discipline, honor, and identity. The CM praised their resilience and dedication, noting that their efforts ensure national stability and pride.

Adityanath also hailed the mothers and families of soldiers, acknowledging that while a soldier fights on the frontlines, their families endure silent battles at home every single day. The Chief Minister praised the leadership of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, noting that under his guidance, India's military has evolved into a modern, self-reliant force. He asserted that national security should remain above political debate, as a secure nation ensures the safety and well-being of all its citizens. Adityanath highlighted Uttar Pradesh's growing and significant role in defense manufacturing, particularly through the Defence Industrial Corridor.
He cited specific examples such as the production of BrahMos missiles in Lucknow and the establishment of new units in Chitrakoot and Jhansi. Additionally, he mentioned drone technology centers in Noida and Kanpur, along with new aerospace and engine manufacturing facilities, underscoring India's strategic move away from foreign dependence and toward indigenous production capabilities.
