Gorakhpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 319 development projects worth over Rs 295 crore in the Chillupar Assembly constituency. He asserted that eastern Uttar Pradesh is emerging as a major hub of industry, employment, and infrastructure.
Address at Gandhi Inter College
Addressing a public gathering at Gandhi Inter College in Mahuapar, Barhalganj, the chief minister said the region, once known for migration due to floods and poor connectivity, is now witnessing rapid development. "The youth who earlier had to travel far in search of jobs will now find employment opportunities at home. The time will come when people from other places will come here to work," he said.
Industrial Growth
Highlighting industrial growth, Adityanath said a CNG plant has already been established at the site of the closed Dhuriyapar sugar mill. Additionally, a cement factory, power plant, modern paint unit, and an advanced distillery are proposed in the area. He added that the government is developing the Greater GIDA industrial zone and has received investment proposals worth thousands of crores.
Infrastructure and Connectivity
The chief minister credited the BJP-led "double-engine government" for improving roads, connectivity, and employment opportunities. He noted that Chillupar is now well connected through the Gorakhpur-Varanasi four-lane highway and the Purvanchal Expressway link corridor.
Criticism of Previous Governments
Taking a swipe at previous governments, Adityanath alleged that before 2017, jobs, contracts, and development works were influenced by corruption and political patronage. He claimed that youths from eastern Uttar Pradesh often faced discrimination outside the state due to the region's image of lawlessness.
Ram Temple and Development
Referring to the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, he said the project became possible only under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh. He urged people to continue supporting development-oriented governance.
