The opposition Congress party has announced its key participants for the debate. The party will field its Deputy Leader, Gaurav Gogoi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, adding considerable weight to the parliamentary exchange. The song, composed in Sanskrit by Bankimchandra Chatterjee, served as a powerful source of inspiration during India's freedom struggle, making its anniversary a moment of historical reflection.
Government Reveals Data on US Deportations
In a separate but notable parliamentary submission, the government disclosed crucial data concerning Indian nationals deported from the United States. Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh, in a written response on Friday, stated that as many as 3,155 Indian nationals have been deported from the US in 2025, with data recorded until November 21.
The Minister clarified that all such deportations are subject to an "unambiguous verification" of the individuals' Indian nationality. This information was provided in response to queries about whether Indians who entered via the illegal "donkey route" were among those recently deported.
Private Members' Bills Introduced in Rajya Sabha
Beyond the main debates, the Rajya Sabha also saw the introduction of several private members' bills on Friday. These legislative proposals, introduced by MPs who are not ministers, covered a range of civic issues. Notable among them were:
