DMK leader A Raja has declared that he is prepared to go to jail if allegations of his having offshore wealth are proven. Addressing a public gathering on Saturday night, Raja invoked the legacies of Dravidian stalwarts EVK Ramasamy Periyar, C N Annadurai and M Karunanidhi.
Challenge to Accusers
Raja stated he has nothing to hide and welcomed any investigation into his finances. He challenged his accusers to provide concrete evidence, saying he would face the consequences if found guilty.
The DMK leader's remarks come amid ongoing political tensions in Tamil Nadu, where opposition parties have leveled corruption charges against several DMK members. Raja dismissed these as baseless and politically motivated.
Invoking Dravidian Legacy
In his speech, Raja drew parallels between his situation and the struggles of Dravidian icons who faced false accusations. He emphasized his commitment to transparency and public service, vowing to uphold the principles of Periyar, Annadurai, and Karunanidhi.
Raja's statement has sparked debate in political circles, with supporters lauding his boldness and critics demanding proof of his claims. The issue is expected to feature prominently in upcoming state elections.
