Karnataka Minister Krishna Byre Gowda on Monday stated that he is still awaiting clarity on receiving a 'full-fledged' portfolio to take charge of his responsibilities. Speaking to reporters, Byre Gowda emphasized that his concerns are not about power, but rather about accountability.
Byre Gowda, who currently holds a portfolio, expressed that without a clear definition of his role and responsibilities, it becomes challenging to ensure proper governance and answerability. He stressed that the lack of clarity could hinder effective administration.
The minister's remarks come amid ongoing discussions within the state government regarding portfolio allocations. Byre Gowda's comments highlight the need for transparent and well-defined roles for ministers to uphold accountability to the public.
He further noted that his priority is to serve the people of Karnataka efficiently, and a well-defined portfolio would enable him to do so without ambiguity. The state government is expected to address this issue in the coming days.
