PM Modi Distributes 51,000 Job Letters Under Rozgar Mela

Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday distributed appointment letters to newly recruited candidates in various government departments through videoconferencing from Delhi under the 19th Rozgar Mela programme. The event was organized simultaneously at 47 locations across the country, including four centres in Bihar — Patna, Hajipur, Samastipur and Gaya.

Appointments in Bihar

According to East Central Railway (ECR) CPRO Saraswati Chandra, out of 51,000 appointment letters distributed nationwide, 300 were handed over to candidates in Bihar during the event. Of the total appointments in the state, 114 letters were distributed at Khagaul in Patna, 64 at Samastipur, 62 at Gaya and 60 at Hajipur. At Samastipur, 46 male and 18 female candidates received appointment letters, the CPRO added.

Union Ministers Attend Local Events

Union Minister for Textiles Giriraj Singh attended the programme at the senior secondary school campus in Khagaul, while Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Chirag Paswan participated in the Hajipur event. Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai attended the programme in Samastipur, and Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Jitan Ram Manjhi was present at the Gaya event.

Prime Minister's Address

Addressing the gathering virtually, Modi said the Rozgar Mela initiative reflects the central government’s commitment to generating employment opportunities for the youth and strengthening the country’s workforce through transparent recruitment processes.

Railway Leads in Recruitment

Among various departments, the railways recorded the highest number of appointments, with 4,034 recruitments at the national level. Besides the railways, appointment letters were also distributed to candidates selected in the home affairs, postal, airport authority, finance, and higher education departments.

Sources said nearly 12 lakh candidates across the country have so far received employment through the Rozgar Mela initiative.
