27-Year-Old Killed in Hit-and-Run on Nagpur Highway

A tragic hit-and-run accident on National Highway 47 claimed the life of a 27-year-old man and left his two companions injured late Thursday night. The incident occurred at Kuchak Mohalla under the Khaparkheda police station limits in Nagpur.

Details of the Accident

The victims were identified as Ashish alias Golu Doifode, 27, and his friends Pankaj Shivankar, 25, and Suraj Mahalle, 25, all residents of Isapur. They were traveling on a motorcycle when an unidentified speeding vehicle rammed into them from behind. The impact was so severe that all three were thrown off the motorcycle.

Ashish sustained critical head injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. Pankaj and Suraj sustained multiple injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at the same hospital. Their condition is reported to be stable.

Police Investigation

Based on a complaint filed by Sanjay Wagh, 48, a resident of Digras, the Khaparkheda police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The complaint states that the vehicle involved in the accident fled the scene immediately after the collision.

Police have launched a search for the unidentified vehicle and are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas to trace the driver. Further investigation is underway.
