Yogi Government Announces Major 80% Honorarium Increase for Shiksha Mitras
In a significant pre-Holi gesture, the Uttar Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced an 80% hike in the honorarium for Shiksha Mitras serving in the state's basic education sector. According to the official announcement, Shiksha Mitras will receive an additional monthly honorarium increase of Rs 8,000 starting from the first month of the new financial year in April 2026. Basic Shiksha Adhikari (Prayagraj) Anil Kumar provided specific data, noting that there are a total of 2,934 Shiksha Mitras in the Prayagraj district alone. Of these, 1,804 are affiliated with the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, while 1,130 operate under the Basic Education scheme. Following the new policy, these educators will collectively receive an additional benefit of Rs 23,472,000 per month, significantly boosting their financial stability.
