Ahmedabad: On Tuesday, the estate department of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) conducted demolition operations targeting structures obstructing a 30-meter-wide road leading to Nana Chiloda village in Sardarnagar ward. In addition, structures along a 45-meter-wide stretch from Sutar Factory to Galaxy Crossroads in Naroda, as well as those on a 7.5-meter-wide road near Unnati Nagar Estate, were also removed. In total, 65 non-residential, 12 residential, and three temple-type structures were cleared to facilitate the widening of these roads.
Encroachment Removal Drive in North Zone
Furthermore, within the North Zone limits, an encroachment removal drive was undertaken across multiple locations. These included routes from Memco Junction to Kubernagar, from Hirawadi BRTS to Thakkarbapanagar, from Machhli Circle to Adishwar Nagar, from Mini Kankaria to Naroda village, from Shalby Hospital to New Naroda, from St Mary School to Bhavani Chowk to New Naroda, from Bapunagar Approach to Chamundanagar, and on public roads. During this drive, a total of 106 items were seized, while 13 illegally parked vehicles were fined.
These actions are part of the AMC's ongoing efforts to improve traffic flow and infrastructure in the city. The demolition and encroachment removal drives aim to ensure that roads meet required widths and are free from obstructions, thereby enhancing commute efficiency for residents. The AMC has urged citizens to cooperate with such initiatives and refrain from unauthorized constructions that impede public spaces.
