AMC Seals Two Units in Ahmedabad for Littering

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) intensified its crackdown on civic violations on Saturday, sealing two commercial units in the West Zone. The solid waste management department took action against Madhav Chavana Mart and Space and Shades, both located in the Naranpura area, after officials found them guilty of persistent public littering.

Hefty Fines Imposed

These two specific establishments were also slapped with a hefty fine of Rs 1 lakh each as a deterrent. This enforcement drive was part of a larger operation involving inspections at 234 units across the city.

Notices and Penalties

Beyond the sealings, authorities issued notices to 139 other units for various offences, including public littering and the prohibited use of banned plastic materials. These inspections resulted in the collection of an additional Rs 1.38 lakh in penalties and the seizure of 4kg of banned plastic.
