Arunachal DA Hike: 2% Increase for Employees, Pensioners

Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh government under Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Wednesday announced a 2% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for serving employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners and family pensioners. The rate has been raised from 58% to 60% of basic pay or pension, effective from January 1, 2026.

Revision Follows Central Government Decision

This revision aligns with the Central Government's decision issued via an office memorandum regarding the enhancement of DA and DR for central government employees and pensioners, as per an official report.

Who Will Benefit?

The enhanced DA will apply to All India Service officers serving under the Arunachal Pradesh government, central government employees on deputation to the state government, and all regular state government employees. The enhanced DR will be applicable to all pensioners and family pensioners.

Coverage and Financial Implications

The benefit is expected to cover approximately 69,248 regular employees and 40,477 pensioners across the state, totaling over 1.09 lakh beneficiaries. The annual financial implication of the hike is estimated at Rs 100.54 crore. This includes Rs 83.31 crore towards DA and Rs 17.24 crore towards DR.

Arrears Payment

Arrears from January 2026 to April 2026 will be paid in cash to eligible recipients.
