Bengal Govt Transfers IAS Officers to New Posts

The West Bengal government on Tuesday issued transfer and posting orders for two senior IAS officers. Anshul Gupta, an IAS officer of the 2013 batch, has been appointed as the director of information in the Information and Cultural Affairs (I&CA) department. Prior to this, Gupta was serving as a senior special secretary in the urban development and municipal affairs department.

Vishwanath Gets New Role

In a separate order, Nabanna, the state secretariat, posted Vishwanath, a 2010 batch IAS officer, as the secretary in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Textiles department. Additionally, he has been given the additional charge of managing director of the West Bengal Small Industries Development Corporation Limited (WBSIDCL).

  • Anshul Gupta: New director of information, I&CA department. He previously held a senior role in urban development.
  • Vishwanath: Secretary, MSME and Textiles department, with additional charge as MD of WBSIDCL.

These administrative changes are part of the state government's routine reshuffle to optimize bureaucratic efficiency. The new appointees are expected to bring their expertise to their respective departments.
