Patna: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav received an abusive and threatening phone call from an unidentified individual who allegedly contacted him under the pretext of booking a parcel. The incident occurred on June 5.

Incident Details

According to officials, the caller initially posed as someone seeking assistance with a parcel booking before repeatedly abusing and threatening the deputy chief minister over the phone.

Complaint Filed

Taking the matter seriously, the deputy chief minister’s personal secretary, Virendra Kumar, lodged a complaint at the Patna cyber police station on the same day. Acting swiftly, the cyber police registered an FIR and initiated an investigation into the case.

Cyber Fraud Network Suspected

Preliminary findings suggest that the incident may be linked to a cyber fraud and extortion network. Investigators suspect that the gang uses the guise of parcel booking and other deceptive tactics to contact individuals, intimidate them, and potentially trap them in fraudulent schemes.

Investigation Underway

The cyber police station has launched a technical investigation and is examining call records while tracing the phone number used by the accused. Officials said efforts are underway to identify those involved and uncover the broader network behind the operation.
