Chandigarh: Officials of the Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh on Wednesday ordered the repair of the rear service road and strengthening of lighting infrastructure behind the Madhya Marg showroom belt in Sector 26. The directive was issued following an inspection of the area by Chief Engineer Sanjay Arora.
Inspection Details
Accompanied by senior engineering officers, Arora inspected the area after concerns were raised by traders and showroom owners about the deteriorating condition of the service road. During the inspection, officials observed that several stretches of the rear service road were damaged and required urgent repair to ensure smooth and safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians. The team also reviewed housekeeping arrangements, maintenance of berms, and removal of obstructions that were affecting accessibility in certain locations.
Repair and Maintenance Instructions
The chief engineer instructed the concerned departments to undertake all repair and maintenance works on a priority basis. Necessary patchwork, strengthening of damaged road portions, and improvement of civic amenities will be executed after a technical assessment. The progress of the works will be monitored closely to ensure timely completion.
