District Revenue Officer and Competent Authority (Land Acquisition) Amandeep Chawla has appealed to all eligible land owners affected by the Hoshiarpur-Una National Highway-503A and Phagwara-Hoshiarpur National Highway-344B projects to submit their compensation claim files by June 30, 2026.
He said that the process of paying compensation for land acquired by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is underway. Land in several villages under both highway projects has already been acquired and transferred to the Government of India.
Amandeep Chawla said that public notices had earlier been issued through newspapers and special camps were also organised for the affected land owners. However, many beneficiaries have still not submitted their files along with the required documents.
He urged all eligible land owners to submit their applications and necessary documents at Room No. 309, National Highway Wing, third floor, Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Hoshiarpur, on or before June 30.
He further warned that if applications are not received within the prescribed deadline, the unclaimed compensation amount will be deposited in the government treasury. After that, payment of compensation by the office will not be possible and no objections will be entertained.
