Delhi Traffic: Azad Market Underpass Closed for Repairs Till June 10

The Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory on Saturday regarding repair work at the Azad Market Railway Underpass (RUB) on Ram Bagh Road. According to the advisory, vehicular movement in the vicinity will be impacted due to repairs of the damaged M.S. sheet side portion at Box No. 03 of the Kishan Ganj/Azad Market Railway Underpass.

Complete Closure Period

The stretch between Azad Market Chowk and the railway underpass will remain completely closed to all vehicular traffic from 10:00 PM on May 30 until 5:00 AM on June 1. During this 31-hour window, no vehicles will be allowed to pass through the underpass.

Night Diversions from June 1 to June 10

After the reopening of the route, traffic diversions will continue to be implemented every night from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM between June 1 and June 10 to facilitate the ongoing repair work. Commuters should plan their journeys accordingly during these hours.

Diversion Routes

  • From Azad Market Chowk: Vehicles will be redirected via DCM Chowk, Rani Jhansi Road, Idgah Chowk, and New Rohtak Road.
  • From St Stephen's Hospital side: Traffic will be diverted through the Rani Jhansi Flyover, Filmistan, Idgah Chowk, Rani Jhansi Road, and New Rohtak Road.

Delhi Traffic Police advised commuters to avoid the Azad Market Railway Underpass during the restriction period and use alternative routes wherever possible.
