Deputy CM urges RMLIMS students to treat patients with compassion

Lucknow: Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak on Monday urged students of Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS) to treat patients with compassion and dedication. Addressing the third convocation, Pathak congratulated students and emphasized that being a doctor carries a significant responsibility towards society.

"When people fall ill, they remember either God or a doctor. Doctors remove human suffering," he said. Pathak urged young doctors to join government service and work with empathy, especially in crowded public hospitals. "No patient should leave disappointed," he added.

Pathak highlighted India's progress in sectors such as digital payments, agriculture, space, and medical science, and encouraged students to continue learning beyond their field. He noted that modern times demand innovation and risk-taking.

Referring to the institute, Pathak announced that a 1,000-bed hospital has been approved to reduce patient load and improve facilities. He directed the administration to address cleanliness and maintenance issues.

Praising MBBS student Harman Singh, who received the Director's Medal for highest aggregate marks, Pathak and state minister Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh said his achievement reflected rising opportunities for students from backward regions. They urged young doctors to continue learning and serve in rural areas.
