Drone and Weapons Seized in Tarn Taran District
In a significant breakthrough, the Tarn Taran police have confiscated a drone, two foreign-made pistols, and three magazines during a targeted operation. The recovery was made late Tuesday evening in the village of Naushera Dhalla, under the jurisdiction of the Patti police station. Acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted a raid and apprehended one individual in connection with the seizure.

According to senior police officials, the operation was meticulously planned following intelligence inputs about the movement of illegal arms and drones in the region. The suspect, identified as Gurpreet Singh, a resident of the same village, was taken into custody. During interrogation, he revealed that the drone was intended for surveillance and delivery of contraband across the border. The foreign-made pistols, believed to be of Chinese origin, were smuggled into India via drones.
Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Arms Act and the Indian Penal Code. Investigations are ongoing to trace the network behind the smuggling operation. Officials suspect links to larger cross-border smuggling rings operating in the border districts of Punjab.
