Dumka: A man allegedly killed his wife and minor daughter in an inebriated condition at Gadamara village in Pakur following a domestic tiff, police said on Thursday. The accused was identified as Naresh Tudu (48), while the deceased were Suruj Kisku (42) and Neha Tudu (12).

Details of the Incident

Police said that Tudu first killed his wife with a spade and later strangled his daughter. He had returned to the village from Bengal on Tuesday, where he worked in a brick kiln. Villagers reported that the mother and daughter were last seen on Wednesday.

During interrogation, the accused confessed to his crime, according to police. He stated that his wife often used to stop him from drinking alcohol.

Discovery of Bodies

The incident came to light on Thursday after a villager spotted the body of the minor girl in the courtyard of the accused’s house and alerted the police. Police said that Naresh had buried his wife’s body on the premises of an under-construction house. The body was subsequently exhumed and sent for post-mortem.

Pakur SP Anudip Singh said, “The accused has been arrested and further investigation is underway.”

Background of the Accused

Naresh Tudu, a 48-year-old laborer, had been working in a brick kiln in Bengal. He returned to his village on Tuesday, leading to the tragic events. Neighbors expressed shock over the incident, noting that the family had been facing domestic issues related to Tudu’s drinking habits.

Police are continuing their investigation into the case. The bodies have been sent for autopsy, and further legal proceedings are expected.
