ECI enables online electoral roll forms in Andhra

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has enabled online submission of Enumeration Forms for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Andhra Pradesh, allowing electors to complete the process without waiting for a Booth Level Officer (BLO) visit.

Enumeration Phase Begins

The enumeration phase began on Monday, with BLOs distributing forms door-to-door across the state. In parallel, the ECI has rolled out an online facility through the voter service portal and ECINET mobile app to speed up submission and verification.

Chief Electoral Officer Vivek Yadav said the move aims to make the process more convenient and accessible. He said electors can submit forms online and match their details with the historical base roll without waiting for a BLO.

Online Submission Requirements

Electors opting for online submission must ensure their mobile number is linked to their EPIC (voter ID). The name on the EPIC must match Aadhaar details to complete the Aadhaar eSign process; otherwise, they will have to submit the form physically.

Steps to Apply Online

To apply online, electors must log in to the ECI voter service portal or ECINET app, select “Fill Enumeration Form,” and enter their 10-digit EPIC number to fetch details. After verifying the pre-filled information, they must complete OTP verification using the registered mobile number.

Electors will then link their details with the previous SIR roll by choosing one of three options — whether their name exists in the past roll, whether a parent/grandparent’s name exists, or if neither is available. Those without details can use the “search your name in last SIR” option.

Based on the selection, electors may need to provide additional family linkage details, update information such as date of birth, and upload a photograph. The form can then be submitted through Aadhaar eSign.

Appeal to Voters

Vivek Yadav urged voters to use the online facility, saying it would ensure a smooth, transparent and efficient revision of electoral rolls.
