The Kapurthala police have registered several criminal cases of robbery, snatching, and theft across multiple police stations, including Sultanpur Lodhi, Sadar Kapurthala, Sadar Phagwara, and Kotwali, over the past 24 hours. In a swift response, authorities have arrested five suspects in connection with these incidents.
Labourer Robbed by Motorcycle-Borne Youths
In one incident, a labourer reported that two youths on a motorcycle robbed him of cash, a mobile phone, and important documents. The victim was targeted while he was on his way home late in the evening. Police have registered a case and are investigating further.
Street Vendor Attacked Near Rajpur Morh
In another case, a street vendor was allegedly attacked near Rajpur Morh by unidentified assailants. The suspects, later identified, were taken into custody. Three individuals have been arrested in connection with this assault, and the victim is recovering from injuries.
Phagwara Resident Robbed
A resident of Phagwara also reported being robbed by three unidentified youths. The suspects stole cash and valuables before fleeing the scene. Police have made two arrests in this case so far, and efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining suspect.
Motorcycle and Phone Theft in Kapurthala
A separate theft incident was reported in Kapurthala, where a motorcycle and a mobile phone were stolen. The owner lodged a complaint, and police have registered a case. Investigations are ongoing to identify the culprits.
NDPS and Excise Act Cases Registered
In addition to the robbery and theft cases, the Kapurthala police registered two cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Suspects were allegedly found consuming drugs in public places. Furthermore, an Excise Act case was registered after liquor bottles were seized during a raid in Phagwara. The police have intensified patrolling and surveillance to curb such illegal activities.
All investigations are currently underway, and the police have assured the public that strict action will be taken against the accused. The Kapurthala police urge citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately.
