Haryana CM flags off 312 emergency vehicles for police

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini on Monday flagged off 312 new emergency response vehicles (ERVs) for the Haryana Police in Gurgaon. The fleet includes 310 motorcycles and two cars, aimed at strengthening law and order and improving emergency response across the state.

Distribution of Vehicles

Of the new fleet, Gurgaon has received 60 motorcycles and one Honda Elevate vehicle, while Faridabad has been allotted 40 motorcycles and one Honda Elevate. The remaining 210 motorcycles have been distributed among other districts. Police officials said Gurgaon earlier operated around 75 four-wheeler ERVs and did not have motorcycles as part of its emergency response fleet. The district's existing motorcycles were primarily used for routine patrolling. Gurgaon police spokesperson Sandeep Turan said, "Now these new 60 bikes will be part of the ERV fleet."

CSR Initiative

The vehicles were provided to the state government under a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative and will be deployed across Gurgaon, Faridabad, and other districts to improve patrolling and ensure quicker assistance during emergencies.

Chief Minister's Remarks

Addressing the gathering, Saini praised Haryana Police for recording an average emergency response time of seven minutes and three seconds, significantly lower than the national average of around 18 minutes. He described the achievement as a reflection of good governance and the state's focus on public safety. The chief minister said the government had strengthened policing through modern technology and an improved emergency response system, adding that the induction of new ERVs would further enhance efficiency. He also urged citizens to follow road safety norms.
